About Me

My story

I can’t remember my age at the time but I have a vivid memory of the reaction I received from the grown ups in the family as I scribbled on the wall of my grandparent’s living room right next to the fire place. One of my aunts walked in and caught me in the act. I can’t recall her exact words but she raised her voice as if I had done something terribly wrong. All the other adults in the family soon ran into the living room to see what I had done but instead of getting in trouble I received praise and encouragement to do more scribbling, but not to the walls of course.

Soon after I started to receive gifts to help me sharpen my skills. For instance, my grandmother bought me a big yellow art carousel with crayons, markers, paints, and other art supplies for Christmas. One of my neighbors, who was also a school teacher, learned of my talent and would always give me paper to sketch on. It was those gifts and gestures that gave me the push i needed to take my talents seriously.

I later went on to compete in numerous art contests and exhibitions that dates back to my elementary school days but they somehow faded after high school.

I stumbled back into art world after helping a friend illustrate a children’s book. As a result, inquires from other authors soon started pouring in. Currently I am in the process of launching my own brand, ARTBLVD.
